Here are the 3 finalists for Dighton-Rehoboth superintendent of schools

DIGHTON — The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District has announced three finalists in the search for a new superintendent of schools.

Current D-R Superintendent Anthony Azar will be retiring on June 30 after a 40-year career in education.

A screening committee made up of parents, teachers, students, administrators and school board members reviewed applications and conducted preliminary interviews.

During the committee's Jan. 24 meeting, they recommended three candidates as finalists for the full school committee to consider in the search for a new Dighton-Rehoboth superintendent.

The school committee is expected to announce its selection for a new superintendent around March 1. The three finalists are:

Craig J. Levis, Superintendent, Coventry Public Schools

Craig Levis has served the Coventry Public Schools in Coventry, Rhode Island, since 2015, first as Assistant Superintendent and then transitioning to Superintendent in 2016. Prior to that, Levis was the Director of Special Education for Smithfield Public Schools in Smithfield, Rhode Island from 2003-15.

William M. Runey Jr., Principal, Attleboro High School

William Runey is the current Principal at Attleboro High School and has been in that role since 2012. Before coming to Attleboro High, Runey was the Principal at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro, from 2006-12.

Dr. Andrea B. Schwamb, Assistant Superintendent, Wareham Public Schools

Dr. Andrea Schwamb is the current Assistant Superintendent at Wareham Public Schools, where she has served in that role since 2014. Prior to that, Schwamb worked as a teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal in Falmouth Public Schools, from 1998-2014, with a one-year post as Assistant Principal in Duxbury, from 2005-06.

The School Committee will conduct interviews with the three finalists in February and determine next steps.
