Three domain names were recently seized by the Maryland U.S. Attorney's office after they were acting like websites for biotechnology companies with treatments for COVID-19.
- Maryland and federal investigators are on the lookout for fake websites posing as biotech companies. Three domains have been seized after posing as fraudulent companies claiming to develop COVID treatments, instead collecting personal information from people and using that information for fraud. Phishing attacks and deploying malware are also a problem with this. This comes as Marylanders continue to get vaccinated.
