Officers and medics were dispatched at 12:02 p.m. to the intersection of U.S. 127 and U.S. 36, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

A gold 2001 Chrysler was going northbound on US 127 and attempted to make a left turn on to US 36. It struck a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser that was traveling southbound on US 127. The Cruiser traveled off the right side of the road and came to rest in a ditch, according to a preliminary investigation.

Edwin Knaff, 71 of West Alexandria, and two others were in the Cruiser. Medics transported them to Wayne HealthCare with injuries.

Russel Garber, 89 of Greenville, drove the gold Chrysler and was treated and released from the scene. He was also cited for failure to yield when making a left turn.
