Darke County Sheriff’s deputies and medics were dispatched at 4 p.m. to the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and Children’s Home-Bradford Road on initial reports of a two-vehicle crash, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

David Reynolds, 41 of Gettysburg, was driving a 2019 Chevy Cruze with his 16-year-old son in the front seat and traveling eastbound on Children’s Home-Bradford Road, a preliminary investigation indicated.

The Chevy Cruze stopped at the intersection of U.S. 127 and was attempting to cross when it was struck by a 2019 Kia Soul going northbound on U.S. 127.

Brooke Copeland, 41 of Wapakoneta, was driving the Kia Soul.

Medics transported both drivers and the 16-year-old to WayneHealth care for their injuries.

Both drivers were then taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

Deputies say alcohol is suspected in this crash, a Darke County Sheriff spokesperson said.

The crash remains under investigation.
