Three people were hospitalized after a head-on crash Saturday night in Georgetown Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.

Just after 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 500 block of Port Sheldon Street in Georgetown Township. Authorities determined that a 27-year-old Hudsonville woman was driving northeast on Port Sheldon Street when she crossed the median. A 59-year-old Jenison woman was headed southwest on the street and tried to avoid the other driver's vehicle but wasn't able to, according to deputies.

The Jenison woman and her 14-year-old male passenger were both taken to Grand Rapids area hospitals with serious injuries. The 27-year-old sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Metro Hospital, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Port Sheldon Street was closed for several hours for the investigation and to clean up the crash. Georgetown Township Fire Department assisted on scene with patient care and clean-up. Life EMS also assisted the Sheriff's Office at the scene.
