Three people were injured Sunday morning in a DeLand house fire.

Crews from fire departments in DeLand, Orange City and Volusia County arrived to the 900 block of South Florida Avenue around 9:30 a.m. and found “heavy fire” throughout most of the home.

All of the occupants escaped before emergency crews arrived, but the house and the “majority of contents” inside were destroyed, the DeLand fire department said in a statement.

One person was taken to a local hospital but is expected to recover, the agency said. Two people were treated on the scene.

The American Red Cross is working to help four displaced adults, three children and eight dogs.

The DeLand fire department ruled the cause of the fire accidental.
