3 injured in two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on wet road near Canby

Apr. 8—CANBY — Multiple people were injured following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on a wet road in Yellow Medicine County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to the crash report, Joyce Sue Shepherd, 53, of Marietta, was driving a 2017 Mazda 6 southbound on U.S. Highway 75 when her vehicle collided with a 2007 Dodge Charger driven eastbound by Krissa Ira Hansen, 26, of Dayton, on Yellow Medicine County Road 4 in Oshkosh Township northeast of Canby.

Hansen, Shepherd and Shepherd's two passengers: Lydia Grace Shepherd, 17, and Rebecca Rose Shepherd, 20, both of Marietta, all were transported to Sanford Canby Medical Center, according to the State Patrol.. Rebecca Shepherd was listed as having no injury, and the others suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the report.

All parties were wearing their seat belts but Hansen's airbag did not deploy.

Alcohol is not listed as a factor, according to the report.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office and the Canby Fire Department and Ambulance assisted in the incident, reported at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday.
