3 MA counties now at ‘high’ risk for COVID spread, CDC says
The number of counties at “high” risk of community spread of COVID-19 continues to fall in Massachusetts.
New data from the Centers for Disease Control show three counties remain “high”: Suffolk, Norfolk and Middlesex. That’s down from five last week, when Barnstable and Franklin were included on the list.
Seven counties, including Worcester, Plymouth, and Dukes, are now considered to be “medium” risk.
Bristol and Essex counties are listed as “low.”
The most recent report from the Massachusetts Department of Health released on June 10 shows the state’s seven-day positivity rate is now at 6.53 percent, with 2,050 new, confirmed cases. Seven deaths were reported Friday by DPH. The average age of patients who died was 80.
Fifty-four patients were listed in ICU, with 18 patients intubated.
The city of Boston still has free walk-through testing for COVID-19 through June at the Anna Cole Community Center.
