3 men arrested on charges of throwing concrete from overpasses

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has recently received multiple reports of concrete items being thrown from interstate and highway overpasses. An investigation led to the arrest of three men, according to a news release from the department.

On February 26th, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 1900 block of West Knox Road, also known as the overpass of US Highway 34, for a complaint by a passerby of concrete being thrown from the bridge. Investigators from Knox and Warren County responded to the scene.

While investigating the incident on the Highway 34 overpass, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police were dispatched to Interstate 74, mile marker 44. Deputies arrived on the scene and determined that transmission fluid had been poured from the Knox Road 2000N overpass. Several vehicles were damaged from the concrete and transmission fluid. During the investigation, officers determined that the transmission fluid was stolen from a nearby business, the release said.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office identified three suspects, who were located and arrested at a residence in Knox County. The suspects are:
