These 3 movies filmed in Greater Cincinnati are showing at the Venice Film Festival

When the Venice International Film Festival opens on Wednesday, three movies filmed in Cincinnati will be among those considered by the judges.

"White Noise," "Bones and All" and "Monica," which were all at least partially filmed in Greater Cincinnati, will be among the 23 films up for awards in the international competition.

The 79th Venice International Film Festival will run Aug. 31 through Sept. 10, and is held on the island of Lido in the Venice Lagoon. It is the world's oldest film festival.

"White Noise," directed by Noah Baumbach and starring Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig and Don Cheadle will make its debut opening night. It is the first-ever Netflix film to premiere on the first night of the festival, according to Film Cincinnati. The movie is also opening the New York Film Festival on Sept. 30.

The two other films with ties to Cincinnati are "Bones and All," directed by Luca Guadagnino and starring Timothée Chalamet, and "Monica," directed by Andrea Pallaoro and starring Trace Lysette and Patricia Clarkson.

"We are thrilled to be able to share their success with the exceptional cast and crew members that worked on these films in Greater Cincinnati.”
