3 people jump from burning boat on Lake Lanier, 2 hospitalized

Two people are hospitalized after they had to jump off of a flaming boat on Lake Lanier on Sunday.

According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, game wardens and the Hall County Fire Department responded to a boat fire at the Holiday Marina at 1 p.m.

In total, three people jumped into the water in an attempt to escape the fire.

Two of those people were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton for treatment of burns and bruises. Their current conditions are not known.

Fire officials are still working to determine what caused the fire.
