PITTSBURGH − Devon Allman Band, Goodie Mob and Nick Lowe with Los Straitjackets lead the free concert lineup for this summer's new-look Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival.

Yes, the festival will look a little different this year, festival producers the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust acknowledged with Wednesday's lineup reveal. Instead of the traditional Point State Park as the venue, concerts will take place on the streets and inside venues of downtown’s Cultural District.

Think block party on a grand scale, a trust press release said, adding, "guests from Pittsburgh and visitors from around the country can continue to expect high-quality arts attractions that have made the festival a destination ranked among the nation’s premier free arts experiences."

The featured concerts will take place at 7:30 nightly on the outdoors Dollar Bank Main Stage, at the intersection of Ninth Street and Penn Avenue. Concertgoers can expect standing room in front of the stage. Guests who prefer to sit can plan to bring their own portable chair to place on the streetscape.

The main stage schedule:

June 3: Cory Henry, singer and keyboardist with Grammy-winning, progressive jazz-rock improvisers Snarky Puppy. Opening the show at 6 p.m. is Selecta.

June 4: still to be announced.

June 5: The 28-year-old Grammy-nominated bluegrass mandolin master Sierra Hull, who made her debut on the Grand Ole Opry at the age of 10. Opening the show at 6 p.m. is singer-songwriter Brooke Annibale, a national indie-folk artist from Moon Township.

June 6: The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra playing popular works by Bach, Haydn, and a "Build Your Own Beethoven Symphony," as well as Rossini’s rousing overture to “The Barber of Seville.”

June 7: Acclaimed vocalist Lizz Wright.

June 8: Brooklyn soul singer Bette Smith.

June 9: Southern rock/blues band The Devon Allman Project, with Eric Krasno & The Assembly led by the founder/guitarist of jam-band Lettuce and jazz-funk combo Soulive and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

June 10: Nick Lowe ("Cruel to Be Kind") and his Quality Rock & Roll Revue starring surf-rock band Los Straitjackets. Opening at 6 pm: Tommy McLain + CC Adcock.

June 11: Atlanta rap group Goodie Mob, which launched the career of rapper/singer CeeLo Green, who's part of the Pittsburgh-bound, all-original lineup with Big Gipp, Khujo and T-Mo.

June 12: Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, led by the son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

Additional details about the concert experience will be made available on the festival website TrustArts.org/TRAF. The complete lineup of performing and visual arts attractions for the 2022 Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival will be announced in May.

Point State Park won't be used this year after the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources reduced the number of days that large events can take place there.
