3-star CB Ryan Robinson Jr. from Class of 2023 joins LSU football as walk-on

BATON ROUGE – Three-star cornerback Ryan Robinson Jr. has enrolled at LSU and will be part of the football program as a preferred walk-on, Robinson confirmed to The Advertiser on Thursday.

Robinson is the No. 28 recruit in Louisiana according to 247Sports Composite. He will be part of the program this fall after enrolling this week.

At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Robinson passed up offers from Florida State, Nebraska, Arkansas, Auburn, Oregon and Tennessee, according to 247Sports, to join LSU. Robinson attended Edna Karr High School in New Orleans.

Robinson adds another option to LSU's deep cornerbacks room, becoming the fourth freshman in the corps along with four-star recruit Javien Toviano and three-star prospects Jeremiah Hughes and Ashton Stamps.

LSU has also brought in four cornerbacks from the transfer portal, including Darian Chestnut (Syracuse), JK Johnson (Ohio State), Denver Harris (Texas A&M) and Zy Alexander (Southeastern).

LSU had to remake its cornerback room following the departures of Jarrick Bernard-Converse, Mekhi Garner, Jay Ward and Colby Richardson. The only cornerbacks who earned notable playing time that are projected to return in 2023 are sophomore Sage Ryan and senior Sevyn Banks.
