3 suspects in Seaford home invasion and shootings arrested. 1 found in Vermont.

Delaware State Police have arrested three out of five suspects sought in connection with the Oct. 11, 2022, home invasion and shooting of two 19-year-olds in Seaford.

Carl Pedone Jr. and his girlfriend Jaylyn Cephas were both shot in the incident. Pedone later died at a hospital.

They lived on the 2800 block of W. Stein Highway with their 2-month-old son and Pedone's aunt. A 19-year-old friend was also present on the day of the home invasion.

Police said just before midnight, five people wearing masks entered the home. According to Delaware State Police, the suspects had "demanded an unknown item."

Pedone's aunt said at the time of the attack, she was in her bedroom and the 19-year-old friend was in the living room. The intruders pushed the friend into a closet. They found Pedone, Cephas and their baby in their bedroom. Cephas was shot in her leg, and Pedone was shot multiple times.

Trent Ingalls, a 20-year-old man from Milford and two juveniles — a 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, both from Seaford — were identified by police as suspects. Ingalls and the 17-year-old were indicted on April 24.

The three suspects have been charged with multiple felonies, including first-degree murder, home invasion, conspiracy and weapons charges.

On April 27, Trent Ingalls was stopped by the Vermont State Police near Rutland, Vermont, a small town about a two-hour drive south of the Canadian border. Police said Ingalls was taken into custody by Vermont State Police and is being held at the Vermont Department of Corrections on a fugitive warrant pending extradition to Delaware.

On April 26, the 17-year-old suspect was located at his residence and taken into custody. The 15-year-old juvenile turned himself in that same day.

After their arraignment, both teens remained in custody. The 17-year-old was committed to the Stevenson House Detention Center on a $782,000 cash bond and the 15-year-old juvenile male was sent to the New Castle County Detention Center on a $527,000 cash bond.
