State jobs are known for offering competitive benefits and enrollment in the nation’s largest state public pension plan. Many of the following jobs have specific requirements, which are linked.

Sift through some of California’s highest-paid state jobs available on the CalCareers website, posted in the last seven days, as of July 19:

Senior psychiatrist | Permanent full-time

  • Location: San Joaquin County

  • Department: California Correctional Health Care Services

  • Salary: $24,962 to $30,377 per month

The senior psychiatrist oversees psychiatric treatment for inmates at the California Health Care Facility in Stockton.

Dentist | Limited term (12 months) full-time

  • Location: Madera County

  • Department: California Correctional Health Care Services

  • Salary: $18,504 to $27,915 per month

The dentist manages the dental care of inmates at the Valley State Prison in Chowchilla.

Supervising engineering geologist | Permanent full-time

  • Location: Sacramento County

  • Department: Water resources
