Browne told the outlet that he was inspired by the female form.

"I designed this dress for Cardi specifically because she has the ultimate beauty in a woman's body, and that is what the dress is about for me: taking advantage of that beauty," he said.

The actress' crystal-covered gown had long sleeves, a high slit, crisscross cutouts, and an open back.

Fox told Vogue the dress was inspired by goth fashion and "Dracula". E! also reported that the gown was shipped in pieces to New York and put back together once it arrived.

"I'm not afraid to be sexy," Fox told Vogue on the red carpet. "A woman who is intelligent and also knows how to weaponize her beauty, there's nothing more dangerous than that. There's nothing more powerful than that. Instead of rejecting it, I'm happy to embrace it and go for the sexy."

Rihanna made a statement in this all-black look after being one of the last celebrities to arrive at the 2021 gala.

The star arrived in a coatdress designed by Balenciaga's creative director Demna Gvasalia. The puffy coat was designed with a dramatic collar and mermaid-style skirt that billowed out at the bottom.

She paired it with Maria Tash earrings, a crystal headpiece, and a diamond choker.

Saweetie celebrated her biracial heritage with her daring Christian Cowan gown.

The rapper's one-shoulder dress had a cutout across the bodice and a thigh-high slit. She told E! that the gown had 10 million crystals on it, and the cape was designed to have the Black American heritage flag on one side and the Filipino flag on the other.

Jenner's Givenchy dress was completely sheer and took 2,500 hours and 30 beaders to complete, according to Vogue. She paired the stunning gown with a thick, silver choker.

Timothée Chalamet was the epitome of cool in his all-white suit and worn-in Converse at the 2021 Met Gala.

The dramatic train of Eilish's ball gown required five people to carry it and was 15 feet long. The singer agreed to work with the renowned fashion house only after it agreed to stop using fur.

In 2021, Dan Levy had an amazing couture moment for his first time at the Met Gala.

Levy made a political statement in this outfit by Jonathan Anderson. The map-covered look featured an image of two men kissing on the front. Levy shared on Instagram that the design was based on an image by David Wojnarovicz and was a celebration of queer love and visibility.

"Tonight, we're celebrating the resilience, the love, and the joy of the community while honoring a crucial American voice that was taken from us too soon," he said.

Zoë Kravitz went for a daring look in a custom Saint Laurent dress.
