Tucson Police Department was investigating a homicide that occurred early Tuesday morning on Tucson’s west side near North Avenue and Flores Street.

Police received a call regarding a shooting around 1:40 a.m., according to Tucson police.

When officers arrived, they found 30-year-old Andrew Jamal Hodge inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound, police said. Tucson Fire Department also responded to the scene and pronounced Hodge dead.

Following an investigation from homicide detectives, Tucson police said they believe the shooting was not random. However, police have not yet released details on the suspect’s motive.

Tucson police were asking anyone with information on the case to call 911 or, if they wish to remain anonymous, call 88-CRIME (882-7463).
