A 30-year-old Stockton man was found fatally shot Tuesday evening in Tracy, according to the Tracy Police Department.

The victim, Justin Peoples, died of his injuries at San Joaquin General Hospital about 11 p.m., police said.

Police said they found Peoples after 911 callers reported about 9 p.m. that a man was suffering a gunshot wound to the upper body at a business in the 3700 block of North Tracy Boulevard.

The business was a Chevron station at 3775 N. Tracy Blvd., the Tracy Press reported.

Emergency responders transported Peoples to the hospital in critical condition, according to police.

Police identified Jeremy Wayne Jones, 49, of Stockton and Christina Lyn Garner, 42 of Manteca as suspects.

Jones and Garner were arrested Wednesday morning at the 1500 block of De Ovan Avenue in Stockton and booked into county jail, police said.
