32 Coronavirus Cases In Batavia D101 Since Schools Reopened

BATAVIA, IL — More than 30 people within Batavia Public School District 101 tested positive for the coronavirus in the first 10 weeks of the new school year.

That includes 11 cases at the district’s elementary schools and a half-dozen cases at Geneva High School, according to the district's new coronavirus dashboard.

Batavia Closes Billing Office After Employee Catches Coronavirus

Elementary students in District 101 returned to classrooms in mid-August, while high school students who opted for in-person learning came back in mid-October. Rotolo Middle School students are scheduled to return in mid-November.

Eighteen of the district’s 32 total coronavirus cases were active, as of Tuesday, according to the dashboard.

Batavia Restaurants Warned For Indoor Service Amid Restrictions

Rotolo Middle School and H.C. Storm Elementary School each had five active cases Tuesday, while there were two active cases each at Batavia High School and Alice Gustafson and Grace McWayne elementary schools.

There was a single active case Tuesday at Hoover-Wood and Louise White elementary schools, the dashboard shows.
