32 wineries line up to offer sips at Uncork Me Indiana festival

Wine lovers used to congregating with fellow oenophiles at Military Park in downtown Indianapolis won’t have to lose a step in their annual fete.

A year after Indiana’s largest wine festival bowed, another vino celebration will step into its place.

Uncork Me Indiana expects up to 5,000 attendees at its debut from 3-7 p.m. June 24.

Vintage Indiana Wine Fest had been the state's largest festival when it ceased operations in 2022 after the state legislature eliminated funding for the Indiana Wine Grape Council that organized the event. More than 10,000 people attended the daylong festival annually where dozens of wineries from throughout Indiana sampled and sold hundreds of wines.

The new fest is from Wisconsin-based Brothers Molloy Events.

Its lineup of wine festivals began in 2021 with Uncork Me in Maine, where Molloy was born. It launched a Wisconsin version in Madison in 2022.

“A lot of people don't associate either of our three states — Indiana, Wisconsin or Maine —  for their viniculture;  but we really find joy in showcasing what these wineries can do,” said Lucas Molloy, Brothers Molloy Events founder.

Each Indiana festival attendee will get a commemorative glass to sample unlimited drinks from 32 Indiana wineries, meaderies and cideries for the duration of the event.

Food vendors will include Books Bourbon & Bacon, J & J A Taste Of Home Catering, Pastabilitiez, Pierogi Love Indy, The Garnacha Spot, Treats By Fee and Wild Boar BBQ.

Another 10 general crafters with vend as well.

The 21 and older event also will feature Giant Jenga, cornhole games and live entertainment in the form of dueling pianos taking requests; a headset-driven silent disco for 150 participants with DJ Mary Jane; and drag performances by Indy’s Ana Crusis, Sage Summers and Tia Mirage Hall.

“We really pride ourselves on a well-rounded event to showcase Indiana wine and agriculture, but also have a good time while doing so,” Molloy said.

Tickets to Uncork Me Indiana are $55 each for regular admission and $10 each for designated drivers and can be purchased at brothersmolloyevents.com.
