34 Montgomery-area high school baseball players named to ASWA All-State teams
Thirty-four Montgomery-area baseball players were named all-state by the Alabama Sports Writers Association, with 15 earning spots on the first team. The teams were released Sunday.
First-teamers are: Alabama Christian's Isaac Warrick, Holtville's Sam Silas, Tanner Potts and Todd Wilson, Lowndes Academy's Ashton Yelder and Colby Briggs, Macon-East's Bryant Rascoll, Jabe Boroff and Matthew Kitchens, Prattville's Travis Stauter, Trinity's Ben Easterling, D.M. Lieux, Fleming Hall and Grayson Ashe and Wetumpka's Kyle Morrison.
Elmore County's Sean Darnell, Lowndes Academy's Clay Duncan, Macon-East's Dalton Nickles, Prattville's Andy Hall, Stanhope Elmore's Colin Woodham and Evan Duncan and Wetumpka's Ty Brooks are second-teamers.
Holtville's Drey Barrett, Lee's Timothy Lambert, Lowndes Academy's Clayton Hussey and Parker Lee Harris, Macon-East's Luke Noffsinger, Montgomery Catholic's Alex Wieser, Pike Road's Cody Markham and Lucas Baggett, Prattville's Slade Wood, St. James' Foster Rasmussen, Stanhope Elmore's Colton Walls and Wetumpka's Garrit Terrell received honorable mention.
Trinity's Jarrod Cook and Macon-East's Bob Pickett were named Class 3A and AISA Coach of the Year, respectively. Cook and Pickett each led their teams to state championships.
