Gate Petroleum will add an extra layer of security at five gas stations and convenience stores across Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville-based company is spending at least $175,000 on the upgrades, according to permits approved by city building inspectors.

The improvements involve adding roll-up doors at each location, according to permit documents. Each door costs $35,000. The locations are at 1153 Old St. Augustine Road, 10913 Beach Blvd., 13940 Beach Blvd., 7059 Collins Road and 3120 Emerson St.

National Retail Services Group Inc. is the contractor that will handle the installation.

Bridal boutique expands next door

The One Bridal store in Jacksonville’s San Marco area is expanding with some renovations at the building next door.

City building permits gave the go ahead for about $455,000 in improvements at the 1712 Hendricks Ave. building next to the boutique at 1636 Hendricks. The work will include pouring new concrete, adding wood-frame partitions, insulation, stucco, windows, doors, drywall and flooring. The storefront also will be modified.

Abba Property Solutions LLC is the contractor.
