Construction begins this month for a recently greenlit $350-million Lake of the Ozarks family resort and entertainment district, according to developers.

Oasis at Lakeport, which is expected to open in the summer of 2024 in Osage Beach, will feature several year-round attractions, including amusement park rides, hotels, restaurants, arcade, signature bar, an amphitheater, marina, and a boardwalk.

Plans include a Marriott Hotels property and 26,000-square-foot conference center, indoor waterpark, 200 public boat slips, a 1,000-space parking garage, and a 200-foot-tall observation wheel.

Approval for the 25-acre venue was granted June 1 at a City of Osage Beach Board of Aldermen meeting. Big Thunder Marine purchased the property adjacent to Highway 54 property 2021 and, St. Louis-based SkyView Partners and Tegethoff Development are spearheading the project.

Skyview co-managing partner Todd Schneider told the News-Leader on Tuesday that developers will announce the restaurants and other businesses that will operate on Oasis at Lakeport in the coming weeks and months. Retail will be limited due to site constraints.

Missouri Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe estimates the property would create 500 new jobs and bring an additional 500,000 visitors to the Lake of the Ozarks region each year.

“I welcome this project for its future impact on mid-Missouri’s economy as well as its commitment to bringing a centrally located, state-of-the-art entertainment district to the Osage Beach community," Kehoe said in October.
