37-year-old woman killed in two-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County

A 37-year-old woman was killed Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials said.

Jessica R. Kelley of Woodstock was critically injured when the 2018 Toyota Highlander that she was driving struck a 2012 Hyundai Elantra driven by Tanner L. Gilliland, 27, of Jasper. The crash happened about 10:30 a.m. on Interstate 59 near the 98 mile marker, about two miles south of Bucksville.

After the initial collision, the Toyota overturned several times. Kelley was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where she later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead on Saturday.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said they are investigating the fatal crash and did not immediately provide any other information.
