38 Section V players earn All-State honors in girls soccer. Here's the list.

The 30th annual All-State team from the New York State Sportswriters and Coaches Organization for Girls Sports was released for the 2021 season and Section V is represented well.

Of the five classifications for teams in New York, four Section V teams advanced to the semifinal round: Penfield (Class AA), Spencerport (A), Byron-Bergen (C) and Fillmore (D).

Overall, Section V had six players named to the first team of their respective classes: Bre DeHond and Lily Brongo of Spencerport, eighth-grader Mia Gray of Byron-Bergen, and Grace Russell and Sophia Templeton of Fillmore along with Abigail Marotta of Marion.

Class AA

Player of the Year: Lia Howard (Massapequa-Section VIII)

Coach of the Year: Bruce Stegner (Massapequa)

Fifth team: Natalie Giunta (Penfield), Brigid Mulholland (Fairport).

Class A

Second team: Maggie Cregan (Brighton), Megan Fry (Webster Schroeder).

Fourth team: Ava Allen (Pittsford Sutherland).

Fifth team: Catherine Rogers (Webster Thomas).

Sixth team: Ella Fadale (Brockport), Leah Shaffer (Pittsford Mendon).

Third team: Keegan Smith (Haverling), Kuditra DeRosa (Greece Olympia).

Fourth team: Mercedes Buckingham (Palmyra-Macedon).

Fifth team: Ella Yartym (Haverling).

Sixth team: Morgan Welch (Greece Olympia), Sierra Harrison (Penn Yan).

Class C

Player of the Year: Shae O’Rourke (Lancaster St. Mary’s-CHSAA).

Coach of the Year: Lindsey Douglas (Ausable Valley-VII).

Section V

First team: Mia Gray (Byron-Bergen).

Second team: Brooke Jarkiewicz (Byron-Bergen), Chloe Hubbard (Warsaw), Makayla Higgins (Warsaw).

Third team: T’Mia Kitchings (Kendall), Kerrigan Driskell (Addison), Cierra Smith (York).

Fourth team: Morgan Wolcott (Geneseo), Ellie Cochrane (Avon).

Class D
