3A All-Idaho softball team: The top talent in the division earns all-state honors

3A ALL-IDAHO PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Mallory Kelsey

Kimberly, so., P/DP

The right-hander carried the Bulldogs to their first state title since 2010 as a dominant force both ways. She went 13-2 with a 1.62 ERA and 154 strikeouts, and she hit .510 with 47 RBIs and 23 stolen bases.

The Bulldogs racked up a 27-3 record and lived up to their No. 1 seed by bringing home a state championship banner.

Homedale, jr., P

The 3A SRV Player of the Year makes the first team for the second straight year after going 15-3 with a 1.86 ERA and 236 strikeouts

Maelynn Durham

Gooding, jr., P

Another repeat first-team selection, she led the Senators to a third-place state trophy and finished 14-7 with a 3.33 ERA and 209 strikeouts.

Libbertie Larsen

Marsh Valley, sr., P

She carried the Eagles on an underdog run to their best finish at state (second place), going 9-2 with a 2.98 ERA and 83 strikeouts.

Maddi Clark

Kimberly, sr., C

The backstop led the 3A ranks in batting average (.614) and RBIs (52). She’ll suit up for West Virginia Wesleyan College (NCAA Division II) next season.

Olivia Asumendi

Homedale, jr., INF

Last year’s player of the year is back on the first team again. She led 3A in doubles (22) while hitting .489 with four home runs and 47 RBIs.

Addisyn Clark

Kimberly, fr., INF

The utility player made quite the debut, finishing in the top five in batting average (.551), home runs (five) and RBIs (39).

Kallie Johnson

South Fremont, sr., INF

The shortstop stood as the Cougars’ leader at the plate and in the field, finishing the year hitting .549 with three home runs and 26 RBIs.

Haylie Angell

South Fremont, sr., INF

The first baseman provided a big bat, hitting .522 with four home runs and 35 RBIs. She also went 10-5 with a 5.04 ERA as a pitcher.

Melissa Bagley

Teton, jr., OF

The speedy center fielder erased hits off opponents’ bats all year long while hitting .482, scoring 34 runs and stealing 10 bases.

Allilah Dykes

Timberlake, jr., OF

The leadoff hitter also delivered plenty of power behind her swings, batting .423 with 37 runs and 16 stolen bases.

Casey Folsom

South Fremont, jr., OF

She had a knack for making diving catches in key moments and didn’t commit an error. She hit .440 with 23 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.
