Why are you running for this office?

Moore: To help make Coshocton a better place to live and raise children and to continue to push for more economic development with the city.

Cutshall: In the early 1990s, I thought about running, but moved to the county. Now we are back in the city and I still have the desire to help push Coshocton in the positive direction it is heading in. I want to help bring good jobs back to the community to encourage more people to move here and raise their families. Coshocton is a wonderful place for families and I want to help support all efforts to showcase our town.

Goals if your are elected

Moore: Continue to improve the 3rd Ward through monitoring property maintenance and junk vehicle removal according to our city ordinance, paving the streets in the 3rd Ward that are in need of attention and encouraging the Coshocton Port Authority director to seek grant money for completion of the unfinished theater on Main Street, which would greatly benefit our entire community.

Cutshall: I want to focus on bringing life back to Main Street and find ways to utilize the ArtPark and court square for more family activities. Families are our most important asset and we need to support them.

For the incumbent, what have been some of your biggest accomplishment in office?

Moore: Completion of regionalization project to provide water to West Lafayette; paving and repair of several streets in the 3rd Ward, including Casshingham Hollow, Fairy Falls and John Street; passing of legislation dealing with property maintenance, junk vehicles, vacant buildings and Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area; and reopening discussions regarding the Safe Routes to School program.

For the challenger, what traits do you feel you have that will serve you and the city if elected?

Cutshall: The fact I was born and raised in Coshocton and have never wanted to live anywhere else shows how passionate I am to want the best for our community. And working at McWane Ductile for more than 44 years shows my work ethic and the fact that I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty.
