Mesa police arrested four people on Tuesday in connection to the attempted murder of a Wendy's employee in March.

According to the statement, on March 14 at around 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a Wendy's located at Greenfield Road and Main Street after receiving reports about a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found that a 21-year-old employee of the fast-food establishment had been shot.

According to police, witnesses provided them with the description of three suspects that lured the employee into the parking lot before violently assaulting him. A fourth suspect, 23-year-old Michael Kidd, identified by a yellow jacket he was wearing, had reportedly approached the victim during the assault and shot him multiple times in the face.

Police said the victim was recovering and had since been released from the hospital.

Police were later able to confirm the witness descriptions through video surveillance obtained from a nearby business.

As the investigation continued, police learned that on March 9, officers had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with the victim inside, according to the statement.

Four other people were also inside the vehicle, including Kidd, who was wearing a yellow jacket.

All four suspects, 23-year-old Kendrick Bessix, 29-year-old Nyjah Durant, 20-year-old Maurice Miles and Kidd, were taken into custody. They all face multiple charges including attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, aggravated assault and weapon offenses.

Mesa police said the suspects remained in jail with bonds ranging from $50,000 to $251,000.

No other information was released by police.
