4 Easter egg hunts for holiday fun in Delaware

There's no better way for little ones to get their exercise this weekend than to run around seeking out eggs and other holiday treasure.

Easter egg hunts are planned throughout the region by churches, towns and other organizations.

Here are four for you to consider as you get ready to celebrate the holiday:

Egg hunts, games, food, moon bounces and more entertainment will be available this weekend, presented by City Church of Wilmington.

Peeps take over Townsend egg hunt

Any time an egg hunt takes place at a zoo, you know it's going to be wild.

The word on the street is the Easter Bunny has planned a Peeps-themed egg hunt, and he wants your kids to hop to it and enjoy this adventure.

Easter displays will be on view as folks visit the zoo, including The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs.

Since this is a zoo, there will be bunnies, ducks, chickens, goats and many other animals present.

Egg hunters will get a chance to dive into this rabbit hole of fun at 3 Palms Zoo (1060 Vandyke Greenspring Road, Townsend) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Dewey Egg Scoop will be in palm of your hands

The Dewey Egg Scoop has a habit of attracting hundreds of families for a little “eggcitement,” presented by Dewey Business Partnership.

There's also an adult egg hunt with a 50/50 cash prize for the winning egg. The adult event costs $20 per adult.

After the egg hunt, there's the Dewey Dogs Easter Parade at 11:45 a.m.

With so many little people hunting eggs, the schedule is broken down by age.

Here’s the itinerary: 10:45 a.m. (ages 2-4); 11 a.m. (ages 5-8); 11:15 a.m. (9 and up); 11:30 a.m. (adults); 11:45 a.m. (Dewey Dogs Easter Parade at 11:45 a.m.).

So that your kids can get their hunt on, candy-filled eggs will decorate the Crooked Hammock's backyards in both Middletown (316 Auto Park Drive) and Lewes (36707 Crooked Hammock Way).
