4 HIMARS and 580 Phoenix Ghost drones the USA has allocated a new military aid package for Ukraine

On Friday, 22 July, John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council of the USA, reported that a new $270 million military aid package for Ukraine had been approved.

The new military aid package will include four HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, 36,000 artillery projectiles, armour systems and 580 Phoenix Ghost drones.

In total, the USA has allocated $8.2 million worth of military aid for Ukraine.

Kirby noted that from now on, Ukraine will have 20 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems in its possession: 16 from the USA and four more from other partner states.

John Kirby had announced a new military aid package at the beginning of this week.

After that announcement, Oleksii Reznikov, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, having talked to Lloyd Austin, the American Secretary of Defense, revealed that there will be "very good news" from the USA.

Background: On 8 July, Joe Biden, the President of the United States, signed a new aid package providing Ukraine with $400 million worth of additional military aid, which will include four additional HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.
