4 injured after crash involving overturned semi in Darke County

Four people were injured after a semi-trailer and car collided in Darke County Wednesday afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m. Darke County deputies were called to reports of a Walmart semi-trailer that had rolled over at U.S. 127 and Sebring Warner Road, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

An initial investigation found that a pickup truck driven by Krista Sortina, 34, of Cambridge City, Indiana was stopped westbound n Sebring Warner Road along with two other passengers, including a 12-year child, according to a media release.

Sortina pulled out in front of a tractor-trailer driven by Michael Graham, 47, of Fort Wayne, Indiana which was traveling northbound on U.S. 127.

After the semi collided with the pick-up it traveled off the side of the roadway and overturned.

Three people from the pickup truck and the driver of the semi-trailer were taken to the hospital, according to the media release.

Their injuries were described as minor.

The semi-trailer, which ended up on its side, spilled around 250 gallons of fuel as a result of the crash prompting the Darke County Environmental Protection Agency to be notified.

Sortina was cited for failure to yield right of way.
