Deputies with the ECSO responded to reports of juveniles attempting to burglarize unlocked vehicles in the Weatherwood area just after midnight. Witnesses said the kids were pulling on door handles of cars.

Deputies said they were unable to locate the suspects following the report. Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, deputies received another report of a white Chevy Cruise that had been stolen from a driveway.

Deputy Megan Kearns said she saw the stolen vehicle in the area of 77th Avenue and Fairfield Drive. Deputy Kearns attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused, according to the post. She reportedly stopped the vehicle using a pit maneuver— a tactic used to stop a driver where the law enforcement vehicle pulls alongside the suspect vehicle, forcing it to turn sideways abruptly.

When the pursuit ended near 77th Avenue, four male juveniles attempted to flee. Deputies apprehended two of the kids, and the two others were identified and arrested later.
