4 Kentucky players walk away winners of smaller prizes in historic Powerball drawing

The Powerball dreams of many Kentuckians were dashed Tuesday morning when a California player won the record $2.04 billion jackpot after a delayed drawing, but four lucky players in the commonwealth are still walking away winners.

The Kentucky Lottery commission announced three $50,000 winners ― one in Louisville and two in Lexington ― and one $100,000 winner in Sonora from the latest Powerball drawing Tuesday afternoon. Lottery officials said the Sonora winner added a Power Play to their ticket, making their total payout worth $200,000.

The winning ticket from Louisville was sold at a Speedway location on Shelbyville Road, lottery officials said in a statement.

The winning numbers were 10, 33, 41, 47 and 56. The Powerball was 10.

“This jackpot was quite a run, and while a Kentucky Lottery player won’t claim the top prize, the commonwealth still wins,” said Mary Harville, president and CEO of the Kentucky Lottery.

Four other players won large prizes during the Saturday drawing, including two players who won prizes worth at least $1 million.

Winners are advised to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in a safe location until they can be claimed.

Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize at the Kentucky Lottery headquarters in Louisville.
