4 NorCal counties close to lifting some COVID-19 restrictions

Four counties in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley are close to lifting some novel coronavirus restrictions. Sacramento, San Joaquin, Yolo and Colusa counties are currently in the state’s most restrictive tier, the purple tier, which is called the widespread tier. However, the counties are reporting numbers that would allow them to move into a less restrictive tier, the red tier, which is called the substantial tier. The counties must report a lower COVID-19 infection rate for at least three weeks before they can officials lift some public health restrictions. Stanislaus County is also close.
