Updated: 6 Providence restaurants now requiring proof of vaccination

With the new mask mandate from Gov. Dan McKee, Rhode Island restaurants are among those businesses challenged to keep patrons safe.

A few have announced their intentions on social media, and now more Providence restaurants will require proof of vaccination, bringing the total to six.

Chez Pascal, 960 Hope St., Providence, chezpron.com, is the latest to institute a new vaccination policy for dining at their restaurants.

Natalie and Tom Dennen were the first to announce that all guests will be required to show proof of vaccination at their two Providence restaurants: Bayberry Garden, 225 Dyer St., Providence, (401) 642-5013, bayberrygarden.com and Bayberry Beer Hall, 381 West Fountain St., Providence, (401) 383-9487, bayberrybeerhall.com.

They wrote on Instagram before Christmas week that they were fatigued with asking guests to put on their masks, so this was their solution.

The owners of East End wrote, "We will be requiring all guests to show proof of vaccination at the door before dining with us, rather than monitoring mask wearing during your meal."

Dolores, 100 Hope St., Providence, (401) 409-2075, dolorespvd.com, and Nolan's Corner Pub, 529 Atwells Ave., Providence, (401) 437-8775, have also announced a requirement to show proof of vaccination before dining.

On Monday, the City of Boston announced that all restaurants in the city will require proof of vaccination starting Jan. 15, 2022.

If you are unsure of a restaurant's rules, call ahead.

The Newport Restaurant Group, which owns 11 restaurants in Rhode Island, wrote that as of Dec. 20, all guests must show proof of vaccination or wear masks when not at their table eating and drinking.
