4 RI Restaurants Fined, Closed For Coronavirus Violations: State

RHODE ISLAND — Three Providence restaurants and one in Pawtucket have been fined and temporarily closed after violating the state's coronavirus health regulations, officials said.

The COVID-19 Enforcement Task Force said it found violations at Levels Lounge, LoVera V.I.P. and Vibe Lounge and Hookah Bar in Providence and MamaJuana Restaurant in Pawtucket. They have been fined between $1,050 and $2,450.

The Department of Public Health said the violations ranged from bars remaining open past 11 p.m., mingling customers being served at bars, not keeping separation at bars and employees not wearing masks.

Restaurants in Rhode Island can run bars, but they must be closed by 11 and people must be seated with barriers between parties.

All the restaurants must undergo thorough cleaning.
