4-star prospect JT Rock announces commitment to Iowa State basketball
Iowa State men’s basketball landed a priority commitment from junior center JT Rock on Wednesday.
The 7-foot, 225-pound center out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota is the No. 60 player in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports. He is listed as a four-star recruit and the No. 10 center nationwide.
In addition to Iowa State, Rock held offers from Iowa, Creighton, Purdue, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota State, West Virginia and Wisconsin. He took an unofficial visit to Ames in October 2021, when the Cyclones gave Rock his first Division I offer.

Rock took an official visit to Iowa State in November. He also took visits to Purdue, Iowa and Creighton, but ended up with the program that extended his first offer.
He is the second player to commit to T.J. Otzelberger’s 2024 class. Rock joins 6-foot-5, four-star shooting guard Nojus Indrusaitis, who committed to Iowa State in December. Prior to Rock’s commitment, the Cyclones class was ranked No. 9 in the nation.
