4 teens arrested after Brookshire Brothers allegedly burglarized in Crockett

CROCKETT, Texas (KETK) – The Crockett Police Department said they arrested four people who allegedly burglarized a Brookshire Brothers grocery store in Crockett early Wednesday morning.

According to Crockett PD, officers where first alerted to a suspicious person and vehicle outside of Houston County Pawn around 2:54 a.m., but by the time they arrived, the man and vehicle were gone.

The owner of the pawn shop reportedly gave the officers a picture of the man from their surveillance cameras, and then the officers were alerted to a burglary alarm going off in the Brookshire Brothers at 401 North 4th Street.

Authorities said security at the grocery store told the officers that they saw several people allegedly break the front door and enter the store. According to Crockett PD, the people left the store shortly before responding officers arrived at the scene.

Officials said they were able to match one of the people from Brookshire Brothers’ cameras to the man in photo from the pawn shop. Later around 3:40 a.m., deputies from the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office spotted the vehicle reported at the pawn shop and conducted a traffic stop.

16-year-old in custody after barricading self in Jacksonville

Crockett PD said that their officers confirmed the four people in the vehicle were the four people reportedly seen at Brookshire Brothers.

Martin Montalvo, 18 of Lufkin, Chey Venegas, 18 of Lufkin, Lewis Torres, 17 of Harlingen, and Kaleb Pantoja, 19 of Diboll, were arrested for burglary of a building and engaging in organized criminal activity. The four were taken to the Houston County Jail for booking.
