Here are the four things you need to know (1:14) WCCO 4 Saturday Morning - April 3, 2021

Video Transcript

- Here's a look at the four things you need to know for today. Number one, more law enforcement in the Twin Cities. Minneapolis is entering phase two of its safety plan for the trial of Derek Chauvin. There will be extra police patrols and National Guard around the city. In St. Paul, cement barriers and barbed wiring combat encompass police headquarters, and 100 additional guard members will be on the street.

- Number two, another attack at the US Capitol. Police say 25-year-old Noah Green rammed into two Capitol Police officers with his car, killing one. The other is in the hospital this morning. Investigators say Green also stabbed another officer after crashing into a barricade, before police shot and killed him. Motive not clear yet.

- Number three, new numbers from the CDC show more than 100 million Americans have now had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, the agency says fully vaccinated people can now travel in the US, and don't need to self quarantine. However, masks should be worn.

- And number four, a final high school hockey showdown. Procter Hermantown takes on Gentry Academy in the class A girl's state championship at 11:00. Then it's Edina and Andover in class 2A. The Gentry Academy boys are also playing for the championship, taking on Dodge County. And the state tournament wraps up with Lakeville South and Eden Prairie.
