Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War in 1862. Americans traditionally use it as a day to stuff ourselves with Mexican food and party. Here are ways for you to enjoy the holiday.

Canceled due to weather: Fiesta: A Cinco de Mayo Party: The party on Spa Beach at the St. Pete Pier will have authentic entertainment, tacos, tequila, margaritas, a mariachi band and performance by Sol Caribe, activities and games for the entire family. Pre-Cinco de Mayo Bar Crawl: Since Cinco de Mayo falls on a Thursday this year, these pre-Cinco bar crawls will have tacos, tequila and drink specials at several downtown St. Petersburg and Tampa bars.
