Here's what you can see, hear and do on the South Shore this fall

The South Shore is hopping with things to do this fall.

Local theater groups will be performing top-notch plays, and live music options vary from classical to rock and folk to funk. While the beaches have started to become too chilly for sunbathing, the change of seasons offers a fresh batch of events celebrating the area's agricultural traditions and community pride.

For lovers of history, learning and even the paranormal, presentations and discussions of those and other topics are scheduled throughout the fall, as are art exhibits that run the spectrum from pastoral to provocative.

Here are some of the local highlights over the next few months.

King Richard’s Faire runs from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. every weekend through Oct. 22. It is open Columbus Day/Indigenous People’s Day (Monday, Oct. 9).
