The Russian invading forces have also lost more than 18,000 units of equipment since the start of the full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, including (change over the previous day in parentheses):

  • Artillery systems — 1,867 (+2);

  • Multiple launch rocket systems — 393 (+0);

  • Anti-aircraft systems — 209 (+0);

  • Warplanes — 278 (+0);

  • Helicopters — 261 (+0);

  • Operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) — 1,536 (+0);

  • Cruise missiles — 480 (+0);

  • Ships/boats — 16 (+0);

  • Automotive equipment and tank trucks — 4,368 (+2);

  • Special equipment — 161 (+0).

Russia attacked Ukraine on Feb. 24. Nov. 19 marks the 269th day of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Invading Russian forces initially tried to advance from the north, east and south, attacking peaceful cities throughout Ukraine. Civilian targets across Ukraine remain the major targets of Russian missile and air strikes.

During this time, the Kremlin has changed its war goals in Ukraine several times. It has lost control of around half of the Ukrainian territory it initially seized, having retreated from the whole of Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr oblasts.

Russia has also been forces to retreat from most of Kharkiv and Mykolaiv oblasts, and Ukraine has liberated parts of Luhansk and Kherson oblasts.

Russia remains in partial control of Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, and Donetsk oblasts, and it occupies most of Luhansk Oblast and the whole of Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula.
