Southbound I-43 reopened after three-hour closure in Mequon

Milwaukee police are seeking information on the shooting deaths of two 15-year-olds in the city Saturday night.

Southbound I-43 in Mequon was closed for more than three hours Saturday evening for investigation of a shooting.

Accoriding to the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department, shots were fired into a car traveling in the right lane from an occupant of a passing vehicle. The victim's vehicle was struck several times but no one was injured.

All lanes reopened between County Hwy. C (Pioneer Road) and Highland Road at 8:23 p.m., the Sheriff's Department said. The incident remained under investigation, the department said in a news release Saturday night.
