$49 nonstops a go as Avelo Airlines touches down in Melbourne. When you can catch a flight
Ladies and gentlemen, Avelo Airlines begins exclusive nonstop service from Melbourne Orlando International Airport to Southern Connecticut and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
The low-cost airline landed its first flight at Melbourne airport (MLB) at noon Wednesday, June 21. Note, online, Avelo Airlines refers to Melbourne Orlando International Airport as "Melbourne/Cocoa Beach, FL" in its drop-down menu when selecting fares.

Avelo, a low-cost airline based in Houston, will offer nonstop service from Melbourne to Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut (HVN) on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting June 21. It will offer nonstop service to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) on Mondays and Fridays starting Friday, June 23. Both Avelo routes from Melbourne will operate on Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft capable of carrying 147 to 189 passengers, a news release states.
In addition to Melbourne, which is about an hour east of Orlando, Avelo flies out of Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) and soon will fly out of Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB). Avelo will fly twice weekly nonstop every Thursday and Sunday from DAB to Tweed New Haven Airport, starting Thursday, June 22, and twice-weekly flights every Friday and Monday to Wilmington Airport in Delaware (ILG) beginning Friday, June 23.
The airline began offering nonstop flights from PBI to Raleigh-Durham and Wilmington International Airport in North Carolina (ILM) in February. Avelo has been flying from Palm Beach International to New Haven since 2021.

When did low-cost airline, Avelo Airlines, start offering flights?
Avelo started operating in April 2021, and has flown more than 20,000 flights and more than 2.5 million customers since then, a news release states. The airline serves 44 destinations across 24 states. At least one airport on every Avelo flight is a small hometown airport, and flights are nonstop.

One-way fares for Avelo Airlines, which vary by city and airport, start at $49. However, there have been one-way specials for $29 flights such as a trip from Palm Beach to Wilmington, North Carolina (see photo).
