49ers CB Josh Norman spent night in hospital

49ers veteran cornerback Josh Norman exited Sunday night’s game against the Packers with a chest injury. After the game head coach Kyle Shanahan said he was unsure of the severity of Norman’s injury. NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo on Monday morning reported Norman spent the night in the hospital because he was spitting up blood.

Garafolo noted all tests run on Norman were clear and his stay at the hospital was precautionary.

Norman, 33, signed with the 49ers the Monday before Week 1 and started each of their last two games. Against Green Bay he had one tackle and a forced fumble.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan will speak with media members Monday afternoon and should have an additional update on the injured veteran cornerback.
