(KRON) — The San Francisco 49ers clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC in December. That means the 49ers will host a playoff game for the second consecutive year when they take on the No. 7 seed Green Bay Packers.

Everyone who is going to be at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Saturday for a 5:15 p.m. kickoff should bring their umbrellas.

KRON4 Meteorologist Kyla Grogan says Santa Clara is “certainly going to have that risk of some showers.” According to the National Weather Service, there is an 80% chance of rain Saturday night.

Grogan says temperatures will be around 58 degrees at kickoff and 56 degrees at halftime.

How much does it cost to go to 49ers-Packers?

In a news conference Thursday, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked about the field given the recent showers in the Bay Area.

“Good. Most of the fields are the same. The ones that are real bad, but ours is good. I think it’s held up well and very similar to our practice field. [Director of Groundskeeping Matt] Greiner’s the man,” Shanahan said.

At least the 49ers don’t have to go to the freezing temperatures of Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

These two teams last met in the postseason in the 2021 NFC Divisional Round — a game that had well-below-freezing temperatures. The 49ers went to the cold in Green Bay and upset the Aaron Rodgers-led Packers 13-10.

They also met in the 2019 NFC Championship at Levi’s Stadium where the 49ers stomped the Packers 37-20. Saturday’s matchup will be the third 49ers-Packers playoff game in five seasons.
