In search of a new favorite New American spot? Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top New American spots around Minneapolis, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to venture when cravings strike.

Topping the list is Butcher & the Boar. Located at 1121 Hennepin Ave. in Downtown West, the beer garden and New American spot is the most popular restaurant of its kind in Minneapolis, boasting 4.5 stars out of 1,463 reviews on Yelp. It has another location in Charleston.

On the upscale menu, you'll find selections like the coffee-brined duck breast with a wild rice crepe, root vegetables, mushrooms and cherries; the double cut smoked Duroc pork chop with squash, sage, acorns and squash-brandy cream sauce; and the smoked beef long rib that's salt- and sugar-cured with tortilla slaw and Tabasco-molasses.
