Medi’s Mediterranean Fusion Restaurant

This restaurant made our best cheap eats list as well and it received 5/5 stars on Tripadvisor.

“What a wonderful Mediterranean meal! We stopped when traveling through and I must say, it was the best stop of our whole trip. Amazing, light and healthy food, not just some chain, but fresh, nutritious and creative food. Lovingly prepared,” said reviewer Marilee B.

Ocmulgee also made our best cheap eats list and we can’t say we are disappointed the restaurant made this list too.

Ocmulgee Brewpub scored 4.5/5 stars on Tripadvisor and here’s why: two simple words, burgers and beer.

Karl R. on Tripadvisor said, “I’ve had some good burgers in my day but this one, man was it good. . . . My burger was perfectly cooked with that charred taste and done to perfection. If you’re looking for a good burger and beer in Macon, stop here.”

The restaurant is named after the Ocmulgee River in Macon and several of the burgers and brews combine the history and great tastes found around town.

Favorites on the menu include the Ocmulgee burger, eat a peach burger, as well as the clucker club and pimento cheese.

La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant

La Parilla received 4.5/5 stars and rave reviews.

“Always worth the stop when traveling through Macon en route to somewhere else. Food is always fresh, hot and I think is the absolute best of their chain, including one in our hometown,” said DD Stovall on Tripadvisor.

La Parrilla Mexican is located at The Shoppes at River Crossing in Macon. The restaurant offers comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, and endless authentic Mexican dishes.

Some of the best dishes on the menu include the queso dip, fiesta salad and chicken tacos.

The Rookery

A Macon gem, The Rookery got 4.5/5 stars on Tripadvisor’s best lunch spots in Macon list.

“Great vibe. The onion rings are the best,” said Erica on Tripadvisor. “This place has a real Southern, ‘Cheers’ feel.”

The Rookery is home to the Allman burger, honoring the Allman Brothers Band, and the Jimmy Carter burger with peanut butter and bacon.

This restaurant also has the best tasting milkshakes around; some of which include the fruity Pebbles shake and Moon Pie shake.

Dovetail Crafted Cuisine

Dovetail received a 4.5/5 stars on the best lunch list and it is no wonder why.

This restaurant is owned by The Moonhanger Group, which is the same group that operates The Rookery, so naturally, Dovetail is just as loved in Macon.

According to Barb’s review on Tripadvisor, Dovetail has “Outstanding service, food and atmosphere,” she wrote. “Loved everything about this warm, cozy and delicious spot. It is clear that the entire staff loves what they do and the level of service matches the masterful food that comes out of this kitchen.”

Favorites include the seared scallops, Chilean sea bass and beef tenderloin filet.

Francar’s Buffalo Wings

“The homemade sauce and speedy service made my meal even better! Me and my hubby visit every month and are always treated like family,” Corliss R. wrote.

Francar’s opened in 1993 on Log Cabin Dr. in Macon, but is now located near Mercer Village on Linden Ave.

No doubt, Francar’s has plenty of wings to choose from, with amazing sauce choices such as sweet and sour, lemon pepper, honey barbecue, sweet peach and baby jerk. Francar’s also has salads, sandwiches, burgers and tasty sides.
