1. DIY porcupine costume

All it takes is a onesie, some fabric, and a sewing machine to turn your child into an adorable, prickly porcupine this Halloween! Just grab some stiff fabric or faux leather and cut it into spike shapes. Then, grab a brown onesie with a hood and use a sewing machine to sew the spikes onto the back in layers. For a little extra flair, you can also purchase some faux fur and sew it onto the hood of the onesie to give your little porcupine a furry mohawk!

2. DIY astronaut costume

This adorable astronaut costume will have your child ready to shoot for the stars! Just grab a plain long sleeved white shirt and a pair of white pants. Cut a bit of felt into strips and glue it to the shirt in two vertical stripes. Then, glue a NASA patch to the front of the shirt and add a flag patch to the sleeve. Finally, make a jetpack out of water bottles and felt, adding backpack straps so your child can wear it.

3. DIY backhoe costume

Is your child obsessed with construction equipment? Then this is the perfect costume for them! All you need to make it is some old cardboard boxes and a bit of paint. Start by creating the backhoe shape by cutting and taping together cardboard boxes, then paint the costume black and yellow. Add some duct tape straps to make the backhoe easy to carry, give your child a safety helmet, and they’ll be ready to go!

4. DIY Chucky doll costume

If you’re looking for something a little spookier this Halloween, try this DIY Chucky costume. Bear in mind though, it’s not for the faint of heart! To make it, start by grabbing a pair of overalls. Add a sticker with the iconic “Good Guys” logo to the front pocket, then paint on a variety of colorful swirls and spirals. Finish the costume with a little costume makeup to make your child truly look the part.

5. DIY cotton candy costume

This DIY cotton candy costume is so sweet! To make it, just grab a hot glue gun, a onesie, a baby hat, cotton fluff, some paper, and spray paint. Use the spray paint to paint the cotton fluff the color of your favorite cotton candy flavor, then glue the cotton to your baby’s onesie and hat. Put the finishing touch on this adorable costume by rolling up a piece of paper and gluing it to the top of the hat to create the cotton candy holder.
