The 2016 Ford Taurus is a 5-passenger full-size sedan available in four trim levels, including the upscale, sporty SHO variant. New this year is the latest Ford Sync 3 system. 2) Standard power for the 2016 Taurus is delivered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that makes 288 horsepower. Also available is a fuel-efficient, turbocharged, EcoBoost 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with an EPA-rated 29 mpg on the highway. The Taurus SHO is equipped with a 365-horsepower EcoBoost powerhouse for optimum performance that also generates 350 lb.-ft. of torque. All are partnered with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
3) A rearview camera is standard, along with electronic stability control, torque vectoring, and curve control for better handling. Safety features such as child safety locks and LATCH system, a set of front and side curtain air bags, ABS and brake assist, rollover sensors, and post-crash alert and anti-theft systems are standard.
4) The cabin of the Taurus stresses comfort and convenience with available amenities including a heated steering wheel, heated/cooled front seats and heated rear seating, multi-contour seats with active massage, auto high-beam headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a Sony premium audio system, and ambient lighting choices.
